Alpenglow (from German: Alpenglühen, lit. “mountain glow”, Italian: Enrosadira) is an optical phenomenon that appears as a horizontal reddish glow near the horizon opposite to the Sun when the solar disk is just below the horizon. This effect is easily visible when mountains are illuminated, but can also be seen when clouds are lit through backscatter. When the Sun is below the horizon, sunlight has no direct path to reach a mountain. Unlike the direct sunlight around sunrise or sunset, the light that causes alpenglow is reflected off airborne precipitation, ice crystals, or particulates in the lower atmosphere. These conditions differentiate between a direct sunlight around sunrise or sunset and alpenglow.[1]
The term is generally confused to be any sunrise or sunset light reflected off the mountains or clouds (see also the "Direct sunlight" section for an alternative view), but true alpenglow is not direct sunlight and is only visible after sunset or before sunrise.[2]
After sunset, if mountains are absent, aerosols in the eastern sky can be illuminated in the same way by the remaining scattered reddish light above the fringe of Earth's shadow. This backscattered light produces a pinkish band opposite of the Sun's direction, called the Belt of Venus.[citation needed]

I prefer this paper for the best classic fine art display medium for Color and Black and White. My work has been printed on this paper thousands of times and displayed in collections worldwide. Its surface is smooth with a subtle texture and a slightly warm base that produces very pleasing B&W and Color prints reminiscent of platinum prints. Fine Art Rag paper meets the highest industry standards regarding density, color gamut, color graduation, and image sharpness while preserving the special touch and feel of genuine art paper.
Most paper prints are available larger than the listed size, mounted on archival styrene, or framed on a custom basis. Please contact us for options.
Art Plaq Mount Museum Quality Fine Art Print

This museum quality presentation is a popular fine art print display option. The art Plaq's display is a high detailed, satin, non glare, archival, glass less, museum quality, artwork. This when framed has been the number one choice of my collectors when acquired at galleries and art shows for the past decade.
Your Art Plaq begins with your selected image printed on a satin fine art paper then mounted to a premium eco-friendly wood to create a durable, long-lasting way to preserve and present your fine art images. Images are mounted on an acid-free 3/8” thick surface and finished with a beveled edge. Surface coatings are applied to maintain UV protection and moisture resistance.
