Cowboy Photography Collection of Limited Edition, Fine Art Prints, Stock images, and publications by Cowboy photographer Jess Lee. The Cowboys and Cowgirls are pictured riding, roping, branding, and on bucking horses all presented in photographs of real westerners as they work and play in a land of unsurpassed rugged beauty.

My Cowboy Photography

Experience the raw beauty and untamed spirit of the American West through my lens. As a professional cowboy photographer, I've dedicated my life to capturing the genuine moments that define our western heritage – from sunlit mornings gathering cattle to dust-filled evenings at the rodeo.

Limited Edition Western Fine Art Prints

Each photograph in my collection tells a story of authenticity and grit. My limited edition prints showcase real cowboys and cowgirls doing what they do best: working the land, riding the range, and keeping our western traditions alive. These aren't staged photos with models – these are genuine moments captured in the heart of working ranches across America.

The Working Cowboy Collection

From the scorching deserts of Arizona to the snow-capped peaks of Montana, I follow the seasonal rhythms of ranch life. My camera documents the intense moments of calf branding, the skilled precision of roping, and the raw energy of horses breaking through morning frost. These images capture the true essence of the American cowboy at work

.Rodeo and Western Sports

The spirit of competition comes alive in my rodeo photography collection. Feel the tension as bronc riders prepare for their eight-second battle, witness the concentration of team ropers as they track their target, and experience the triumph of successful rides. Each image freezes a moment of pure western athleticism and determination.

My work has been featured in leading western lifestyle magazines and publications. For publishers and designers seeking authentic cowboy imagery, my stock collection offers a vast library of high-quality photographs depicting real western life, from daily ranch work to celebrated rodeo moments.

Cowboy Photography History

This is a little history of the Cowboy lifestyle I wish to help preserve.

The historic American cowboy of the late 19th century arose from the vaquero traditions of northern Mexico and became a figure of special significance and legend.[1] A subtype, called a wrangler, specifically tends the horses used to work cattle. In addition to ranch work, some cowboys work for or participate in rodeos. Cowgirls, first defined as such in the late 19th century, had a less-well documented historical role, but in the modern world work at identical tasks and have obtained considerable respect for their achievements.[2] Cattle handlers in many other parts of the world, particularly South America and Australia, perform work similar to the cowboy.

The real cowboy has deep historic roots tracing back to Spain and the earliest European settlers of the Americas. Over the centuries, differences in terrain and climate, and the influence of cattle-handling traditions from multiple cultures, created several distinct styles of equipment, clothing and animal handling. As the ever-practical cowboy adapted to the modern world, his equipment and techniques also adapted, though many classic traditions are preserved.
