April 14-18

Join Jess in this workshop series to the little photographed areas of the fabulous 4 corners region of Utah and Arizona. This photo tour will feature unique views and locations beyond the normal visitor locations. In this part of the series we will not only photograph The famous Upper and Lower Antelope Canyons but our group will go to exclusive and private Slot canyons for a chance to capture images away from the masse. With us you can visit more remote and less photographed Slot Canyons. Much of our adventure will have Navajo guides taking us to the places the non Native Americans are not allowed to go. We will show you how to explore capturing images of these great locations in ways to make your work stand out from the crowd.
Like the other trips in the Navajo Nation our Navajo guides are chosen for not only their knowledge of their homeland, but also for their skill, honed by years of working with professional photographers and film production companies. They will lead us to the most unique photographic locations in this icon of the American west. While doing this our guides will also tell us the stories and legends of their people in these sacred places.

Photographers come to the Canyons and Hoodoos around Page Arizona every year seeking to capture great images of one of the world's most dramatic landscape locations. Great light, red rocks, hoodoo's and the amazing southwest canyons will make this photo tour enriching and rewarding. This instructional tour is designed and timed to hit the best color and light angles in this vast scenic area. We are able to be extremely productive thanks to Jess's decades of experience in this area. While other tours will have you setting at your computer during the harsh light of the day we will be traveling to our next location to be on the mark at the best time in the best light.
We will take you to the places beyond the normal Workshop view point.

Itinerary:( this time line is subject to change depending on Jess's knowledge of what the best images may be for the conditions)
Day 1 - Afternoon meet in Page for a brief orientation and sunset shoot near Page.
Day 2 - After a sunrise shoot at a location to be determined by the light and weather we will stop for breakfast and a description of what to expect and how to handle the challenges of Upper Antelope Canyon. We will then meet our guide and head off to capture images of the sandstone walls and color of Upper Antelope Canyon and one other private slot canyon. After a mid day break for down loading and reviewing the mornings images we will head out for a afternoon of photographing Rim Rock Hoodoos.
.
Day 3. The morning will be dedicated to, my favorite, the spectacular Lower Antelope Canyon . The afternoon will be spent at one of the other locations around page such as Alstrom Point, Nipple Bench, the Toad Stools or another seldom visited photo locations.
Day 4. Horseshoe Bend will be our morning location. Afternoon will find us at another scenic sandstone area to capture more unique locations of the southwest.
Day5. Early morning we will be catching the first rays of light to a undisclosed awesome location and surrounding canyon walls. After our morning shoot we will say our goodbyes and the end of this wonderful trip.

Of course the whims of natures light and weather will dictates possible changes in this general itinerary.
