Everyone IS a photographer

.
It has come to pass. We all do it. Photograph that is.
From cell phone cameras to the latest super mega pix DLSR if not every person but every group had at least one image making machine going when we made the obligatory visit to see the Old Faithful eruption.
It is wonderful to see so  many people [...]

An Old Favorite

As I mentioned, the weather has been pretty nasty and this morning was not much different at the start. As we were heading to look for moose and the wolves I could see what looked to be a brief clearning heading for the Tetons.
Soon we were at this beaver pond to catch the reflection. By [...]

Wooden Heart

The weather has been dark and wet the past couple of weeks but we do get a little sun. Just enough to make the spring very successful.
Luckly the animals are still fairly active with several Grizzlies with cub and many bison and elk calves.
One of the most interesting scenes this year is this pair of [...]

Bison Babies abound

It is getting to be a tough time of the year here next to Yellowstone. The new babies are starting to show up. Grizzlies are out for the finding with their cubs and the meadows are awash with the little red Bison calves.

Bill Elk in Snow

Yellowstone Elk bugling in Late October

This bull must not have got the memo that the breeding season is the 3rd week of September as some photographers think

Yellowstone Autumn Grass

The wildlife shooting has slowed down in Yellowstone  during this late Autumn season but there are still many chances for great photos.
This area of  grasses and dead trees is always an early morning favorite in any season, but the rich autumn tones and frost made me stop this morning to capture the crisp autumn scene.

What is good light?

Yellowstone wolf chasing elk

It was really bad light from the only place we could watch the stand off. It had gone on all day. The cow elk on the tiny island, The 3 wolves napping on the shore, only attacking when the elk tried to rest.
Finally as the light got in the worsts location for [...]
