Watch over them

This little one feels safe and secure while its mom feeds. I hope it doesn’t learn that Mom is not enough since the BLM’s policies can be harmful to all of the Mustanges unless we the public step in and forces good management.
Keep the pressure on so these beauties can stay safe.

A certain feel in the air.

Even though summer has just begun and the days are what passes for hot here in Yellowstone country there was a certain feel in the air  this morning of things to come in the next 5 or 6 weeks. I am already starting to morn the loss of summer and happily anticipate Autumn in the Rockies

Making up the Mustang way

This colt had been acting up playing with his mom> Like a good mom she had just corrected him with a little hoof in his butt.

It is time we did the same for him and the the other wild horses being abused by the very government agency task to protect this symbol of the freedom [...]

Sunrise Mustangs

Our group was  able to catch these Stallions testing each other for their morning exercise.

Back to the owls

Yesterday I finally had a chance to bring my tour clients back to the Great Horned Owl nest. We had a couple of hours wait but Mom finally came back to the nest and the chicks move out so they could have their bed made. It looks like in a week or so they will [...]

An Old Favorite

As I mentioned, the weather has been pretty nasty and this morning was not much different at the start. As we were heading to look for moose and the wolves I could see what looked to be a brief clearning heading for the Tetons.
Soon we were at this beaver pond to catch the reflection. By [...]

Elk Antler Auction, Bison Skulls and Visitors.

This weekend marks the beginning of the true tourist season in the Northern Rockies and one of the last semi local events is the Annual Jackson Hole Elk Antler auction. and Elkfest. Some how these Bison skulls reminded me of the upcoming season. Maybe it has something to do with all of the Bison burgers [...]
