Grizzly and cubs

Sow Grizzly and cubs from Silver Salmon Creek Photo workshop last month.

Ever wonder what animals think of us?

I think this little guy spoke for them all.

Independence Day

Independence Day.
Enjoy the celebration of our freedom and remember our forefathers earned it for us with their blood.
It is our job to keep our nation free for our children.  How and if we do that will show our true value as a nation.

Food Fight Bear style

In the bear world you not only have to catch the fish but you need to keep the fish long enough to eat it!
The bear with the salmon in this photo is also very good at eating on the run.

I guess everyone is getting tired of bears by now but this mom is being so good to us I can’t help but show her and her babies off.

Walking on the water

This morning we worked on Grizzlies feeding on the tidal flats.
Clams make up a good source of protein for Brown bears young and old. This mom and her cub appear to be on top of the shallow water do to the angle I chose for the photo.

Katmai Coastal bears. How long will it last?

I am just getting back to editing last years Katmai Coastal Boat trip photos and wanted to share a few of these cute mom and cub photos.
Going over the thousands of shots from this trip reminds me of what a special place this remote, undisturbed , land of the great bears is for now.

We got Eagles

Well after a week of hard work and a whole lot of smiling it is safe to say “We got Eagles”
About 50 gigs worth.
Thanks to a great bunch of folks on the this adventure.

Fishing eagles

Just a quick catch from yesterday.

Musk Ox bonus

Another little bonus for the shooters on our Eagle trip was this Musk Ox we shot in a early morning snow storm.
These guys are  tougher than Bison and uncommonly photographed. It made the day  to get shot of these arctic tough guys.
