OK off the soapbox. Sure there are things happening in Yellowstone but this early in the season is usually not [...]

Yellowstone Wolves I

Actually this is more shameless self promotion rather than news. The above is a photo of mine that will be on the back cover of the Spring 08 Defenders Magazine.
The article that this image promotes has some interesting thought about the delisting of wolves if you get a chance read it and weep.

Alaska Bear Photo trip opening.

I have just had an opening on my June Alaska bear Photo trip.  It is really getting difficult to get a space on one of these trips so if you want to go, this is your chance. Check it out

It is the best place I have found for capturing grizzly cub images.

Organ Pipe National Monument Poppies Again!

Last week after 2 days of wind I though the bloom at Organ Pipe was on its way out.
I was wrong!.
It is so great we are canceling rooms at other locations and extending our stay here. A full week (this week) isn’t enough time to get it all. No wonder Organ Pipe is one of [...]

The desert bloom is on.

As predicted the Desert is a Bloom this year.  Joshua tree north is still to come with the exception of Amboy crater which is in full bloom. On a side note gas at Amboy was $4.9 for regular. Hello GW!
Organ Pipe is awesome as usual but I am prejudiced I love the place even without [...]

Desert Spring dreaming

While the snow continues to drift here in Yellowstone country. The flowers are starting their bloom in the desert of the southwest.
Soon the Mexican (or is it now Latino) Poppies and other flowers will carpet the lowlands in southern California and Arizona. “It is going to be a good year” says the visitors center at [...]
