With the click of the shutter

This is a sow grizzly with 2 spring cubs at Lake Clark. The cubs were up a tree in the bush so we didn’t get to photograph them.

We photographed several other bears today but what struck me about this photo is how it shows what a different fraction of a second between shutter clicks portrays  our subjects.

In the series just before this shot the  bear had been chewing and being nervous so at times she looked furious and snarling when in reality she was just having dinner.

In this shot she looks strangely vulnerable to me but I am sure to others she looks threading. I guess it just proves that the camera does lie.

Type your comment here.The camera only picks up what we see and sometimes what we dont see but feel…My camera shows me often what I was not aware of in this special moment.
Next question: what is the truth – certainly not what our eyes see…
