Red Rock Toadstools
This is from an area often called the toadstools. It is not far from the BLM Contact station.
The area is getting to popular for my taste but it is a quick easy hike to stretch the legs after too much time driving.
Actually the increased popularity of an area is always a mixed bag for those of us who found a place long ago. More people always reduces the sense of adventure but I found many years ago that if people don’t know about an area it is impossible to get the masses interested in protecting a place if the need arises.
I was hoping for the sunset to light up the clouds but the horizon became blocked by a small weather front moving in to the area so this and a couple of others shots ended a pleasant evening.
