SAFARI INTRODUCTION / DESCRIPTION
An excellent safari for a true nature professional photographer. Best Wildlife Photo Collection Trip to Tanzania, home to the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater and Mount Kilimanjaro. DETAILED ITINERARY:

March 6, 2010

Day 01 : USA / AMSTERDAM
Let the adventure begin when you board your overnight flight to Amsterdam with meals and a movie on board.


Day 02 : AMSTERDAM / KILIMANJARO
Upon arrival into Kilimanjaro International Airport and after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met and transferred to the Serena Mountain Village. An imaginative recreation of a traditional Arican Village set in the heart of a coffee estate at the foothills of Mount Meru, with great views of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. Just 10 minutes from Arusha and 20 minutes from Kilimanjaro International Airport, the lodge is the perfect basis for a Safari to the National Park and to Kilimanjaro. The Lodge has 38 romantic rondavels and 4 suites, set in beautiful gardens. Every room has a private bathroom with shower and the suites also have baths and a private verandah overlooking the Duluti Lake. The restaurant serves international cuisine. Day 03 : TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Safari briefing at breakfast time prepares you for an exciting adventure. Depart for Tarangire National Park, named after the river that flows through the length of the park and provides a constant water source for the thousands of animals making their home here. Lunch at the lodge and enjoy a late afternoon game drive. The next day, take a morning game drive to explore the beauty of the park and its wildlife. (BLD)

Day 04 : LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Arrive in time for lunch followed by a late afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara is home to numerous birds, elephant, tree-climbing lions, hippos and buffaloes. (BLD) Lake Manyara Serena Lodge

Day 05 : NGORONGORO CRATER
Get an early morning start to the Ngorongoro Conservation area, host to the birthplace of man. It is also home to the unique intact caldera, the Ngorongoro Crater. Arrive in time for lunch. Later visit a local Masai Village. (BLD) Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

Day 06 : NGORONGORO CRATER
Enjoy breathtaking views of the crater as the sun rises. After breakfast, descend 2000 feet below the rim of the crater for a full day of spectacular game viewing. The crater is home to abundant game, including the "Big Five," plus the black rhino, jackal and Cape Buffalo. Lunch is served picnic-style on the crater. (BLD) Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

Day 07 : SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
This morning drive to Olduvai Gorge for a short visit to the site of the remains of prehistoric "Nutcracker man. " Continue your journey to the world's best-known park, the Serengeti. Named after the Masai word, "Siringer" for endless plains of short and long grass, the Serengeti is well known for its large prides of lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog and for nearly a million or so wildebeest. Day 08, 09 & 10 : SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy THREE full days with morning and late afternoon game drives, with afternoons spent relaxing on the grounds of the hotel. On day 09 or 10 you have the opportunity to enjoy an early morning balloon safari (extra cost) over the Serengeti Plains, which includes a bubbly champagne breakfast upon landing. Or you can take an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Day 11 : KILIMANJARO / AMSTERDAM
After a final morning of game viewing in the Serengeti, you will be transferred to the Airstrip back to Arusha for a farewell lunch. You’ll have a chance to pick up a few last minute souvenirs if you’d like. You’ll head off to your day rooms, which are provided so you can prepare for the final journey home. OPTIONAL dayroom/Serena Mountain Village Lodge.  Grab a shower, rest, or take a swim before you are transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departing flight this evening. After an early dinner, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight to Amsterdam. (FB)


DAY 12 : AMSTERDAM / USA
Arrive in Amsterdam and connect to your homebound flight to the United States.
