Join Jess with a small group of adventurous photographers for one of the most complete Alaska Photo trips available. We will fly in our private float plane directly from Anchorage to the world famous Silver Salmon Creek Lodge for 7 days and 6 night of pure Alaska wilderness wildlife photography heaven.
The majestic Brown Bear will be our main quarry but nearby pelagic bird populations, including horned and tufted puffins, black-legged kittiwakes and murres. Bald eagles, trumpeter swans, and harbor seals can also be targeted. . Scenic backdrops include volcanic Mt. Iliamna, Mt. Redoubt, and Augustine volcano, all part of Cook Inlet's "ring of fire."
Of course accommodations and dinning is first rate. The great thing about this location is that we will have these beautiful bears ( often with cubs) right out the door. Silver Salmon Creek Lodge has developed a safe and successful program of moving into the habitat of brown bears, being careful not to disturb the free-ranging nature of their movements. No permits are needed and no viewing platforms are used. I have chosen this location based on its exceptional opportunities for unique images and peaceful encounters.
This trip will be August 08-14, (arrive Anchorage August 07) timed
to coincide with one of the major Salmon Spawning runs of the year.
This will give us the opportunity to photograph Brown Bears fishing,
running, and fighting in the surf and along streams. We will have
a chance to fill hard drives and burn film capturing the antics of
the great creatures like never before. All of this in addition to
having Jess instruct you in the best ways to capture the essence of
wild Alaska.
Cost from Anchorage is $4950. $500 deposit holds your place
Cost includes bush plane flight from Anchorage and return.
7 Days and 6 nights at Lake Clark/Silver Salmon Lodge including meals.
Not included are;
meals in Anchorage, Snacks, drinks, gratuities. and other personal expense.
